What if "All I Want for Christmas are My Two Front Teeth"
And
you didn’t get them?
Then what?
Yes, you would be toothless…
but what about your unfulfilled need that remained.
Would this Christmas be marked down as a bad Christmas?
Your toothless smile would daily remind you of that “bad" Christmas and you would hope the next one would be better.
What do you really want?
What if you never got it?
Would This Baby be a bad baby?
We really don't blame Santa for not receiving what is written on our Christmas list.
But what about when God doesn’t give you what you want when you want it?
Do you blame God?
I have been there many times and will visit that place many more times,
because
God is God and
God knows me better than I know myself.
But what if we accepted the gift of what God gives us,
of what we need when we need it
and
when it doesn’t look like anything than what we wanted?
Hmm…hard to accept, and at times we refuse the gift because it isn’t
"What I want".
The world wanted a Savior to bring peace on earth and goodwill to men....
And then God sends a Little Baby,
A Baby that
does not look like a King…
And who wants to trust a Baby for all that he/she needs?
It isn’t about trusting a Baby, it is about trusting the One who sent the gift.
This swaddled little Baby, looking into His parents eyes on the night of His Birth,
Was sent
Because
God
Knew
What we all
Needed.
He sent Peace, Joy, Hope and Love...
all wrapped up in a Baby.
He didn’t send extra teeth, a bike or a car
He sent a Baby
But a Baby?
This gift was all about the Giver..
"For God so loved the world…
that He gave His One and Only Son..." (John 3:16)
"For God so loved"...
He sent
The Perfect Gift
Because God so loved…
He will give you what you need
when you need it and
that will end up being
what is what you really wanted in the first place.
What is number one on your want list?
Is it a person, place or thing?
Or is it just to be happy?
Whatever it is, it is important to you, so it is important to God.
But God…
Sent His Son..
This little Baby...
So that This Baby
would grow up to the be a King…
Who
is
What we all
Need...
“For whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”
And that is all that we really need...
Because This Little Baby
WILL
give you all that you really wanted in the first place.
Accepting this gift from the Giver
WILL make
This Baby be number one on your want list...
Because He will be what all that you need when you need it
beyond December 25.
