If you got all that you wanted right now, would you still need the Lord?
Think about it... If I got all that I wanted right now
why would I even go to the Lord...
unless I got all that I really needed which is Him!
Want and Need When Jesus was born, we needed Him.
There was a need.
I feel God threw up his hands and said to Jesus....
"Go down there my boy, it is time.
They are really messing up.
Let's show them Who we are and offer to them what they really need." So Jesus came...
To be born in a manager
To walk through life as "man"...
To forgive
so we could live with Him in eternity.
He gave us all that we needed on the cross.
It is finished.
His ultimate power revealed to us through His resurrection.
How powerful is that?
What more could I want
What more could you want
If we did get all that we needed? Jesus could have got off that cross in a second,
but He didn't...
even when the people were "taunting and tempting" Him in Luke 23... The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said,
“He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.” There Jesus was on the cross
just waiting...
to fulfill His purpose.
He could have saved Himself and got off the cross,
but instead He stayed.
He hung onto God through the process
because He knew what we needed. Are you hanging on?
Are you hanging on while you are waiting,
for what you want
or
for what you really need?
Hmm...
At times I have jumped off way too soon, because I couldn't see, hear or feel God,
and because I was waiting for what I wanted.
But was what I wanted really what I needed? Oh how it was worth it when I continued to hang on
in those times when I wanted to give up But only because Jesus was hanging on with me
giving me all that I needed. God is always revealing His power, even when we don't feel like He is...
when we don't visibly see Him in our circumstances.
There is so much power in hanging with Jesus,
in sitting at His feet
because He already gave us all that we need.
He already did the most powerful work...
He died, He rose...
and He will come again. I will be thankful for His power,
I am a product of His power.
I will live forever...what more could I want.
Thank You my Lord, for giving me everything that I need,
when I am crying out for what I want.
Thank You my Lord, for your Son...who hung on that cross for me.
I thank You my Lord, for hanging onto me...so I can hang onto You. Thank You for giving me Your all..so I can have it All...in You.
Make Him all you ever want
and you will receive
all that you have every needed.
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
