Day Four: A Pound of Shame


I did it....

Again.!

You cover your face,

Just wanting to hide

Feeling

Ashamed

Ashamed Defined: Embarrassed of self; Falling short

Have you ever felt ashamed?

Feeling ashamed~

We learned from the very best.

In the beginning, God created Adam and Eve

And Eve picked something that she wasn't supposed to pick

And gave it to Adam

And they ate it

And

Immediately, they were ashamed

So they hid

Because the shame was so great.

Then the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"

Genesis 3:9

God came looking for them, when He already knew where they were.

Why didn't God just get rid of them at the moment, and start all over again?

He could have

Because He created them

And

They created the mess.

But God

Brought them out of hiding

So who were they really hiding from?

Shame was birthed.

Shame is an intense feeling of angst that makes you wish you could evaporate~

Because of a choice you made, no matter how big or small

or because of a choice someone else made that has affected you.

But

Shame is real

And

Going into hiding is the easiest thing to do.

What makes you want to hide?

Are you hiding right now?

But who are you really hiding from?

But God

Comes looking for us.

He sees us

In the midst of shame

And

Because

He so loves us

He sent His Son

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus..."

Romans 8:1

So

Let's

Come out of hiding

And

Fast from the weight of Shame

By

Taking the Hand of the

One Who

Sees you

Hears you &

Accepts you...

Just as you are, not as who you think you should be

No matter what you have done

No matter what you are doing or feeling

No matter what you may do in the future.

Uncover your face

Because He wants to look directly into your eyes to

Tell you

I love you

Just because.

“And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

Ephesians 3:17-19
