David said it:
My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are You so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning? O my God, I call out by day, but You do not answer; And by night, but I find no rest nor quiet.
Psalm 22:1-2
Then
Jesus said it:
About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud [agonized] voice, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
Matthew 27:46
Now
Have you said it?
My God My God why have you forsaken me?
Forsaken
Abandoned
Oh I have said it in those moments of ~
Do you hear me
Do you see me
Do you even know I exist
Because if you did
You would not be forsaking me.
But has God really forsaken us?
Jesus had the right to cry those words
Because
Christ didn’t have any sin.
But God made him become sin for us. So we can be made right with God because of what Christ has done for us.
II Corinthians 5:21
So has God forsaken you?
It may feel like it, in those moments when you feel your cries are not being heard...
When your circumstances aren't changing...
When you are doing all that you are supposed to be doing...
and
Nothing still happens.
How do you feel forsaken at this moment?
So...
How is Jesus forsaking Himself
for you & for me
in His darkest moment
Enough
to
Bring light
in your forsaken moments?
Because
HE IS with me when I am alone
HE IS my strength when I am weak
HE IS my peace when I am anxious
HE IS my joy when I am depressed
HE IS my everything when I am nothing
HE IS
Because
He was forsaken.
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory
in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19
Let's fast from the weight of feeling Forsaken today
by
looking up
to the
One
Who
He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
