Oh the power of three letters~
D I S
The power to change
agree to DISagree
approved to DISapproved
obedience to DISobedience
interested to DISinterested
order to DISorder
advantage to DISsadvantage
"DIS"~
expressing negation.
What are you "DIS"ing?
When we add that prefix to any word we miss out
because what we really are plagued with is
DISbelief:
the inability or refusal to accept that something is true or real
And
we don't have something that we really believe in that is reliable, true, or real.
Who, what, where or when are you believing in?
The father approaches Jesus to heal his son
"If you can?" rolls off his tongue.
DISbelief
"If I can?” said Jesus.
Then Jesus responds with,
“Everything is possible for one who believes.”
Belief: trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something.
And then...
Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed,
“I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Mark 9
The father Knows about Jesus and that He could heal his child, but
"If you can" rolls off his tongue.
The father then
Receives Jesus
and
Believes in Him
and now asks Jesus to really help him.
Have you ever questioned Jesus
whether He can or will do what He said He would do?
"If you can"
has rolled of my tongue numerous times.
And then
in the midst of my disbelief
Jesus
responds back with
"If I can?"
because
He hears
He sees
and
wants to
because
He Can.
Is Jesus enough to take away the DIS from your belief?
If Jesus Can turn water into wine
If Jesus can walk on water
If Jesus Can heal the blind man....
But do you believe it.
If Jesus can take away your anxieties
If Jesus can forgive the unforgivable
If Jesus can love the unlovable
If Jesus can give you eternal life
IF Jesus CAN
Can
you
Believe Him?
Let's fast today from the weight of
DIS
By
Receiving and Believing in the One
Who Can
because
“Everything is possible for one who believes.”
