We the People
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. I Peter 2:9
We the People
Know that the LORD is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, the sheep of his pasture. Psalm 100:3
If
We the People
would
Remember
Who
God
says we are
because
God
Remembers.
He
Remembers~
and
not because
He forgot
but because
He
Remembered~
"He turned his attention to":
But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the cattle that were with him in the ark; and God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the water subsided.
Genesis 30:22
Then God remembered Rachel, and God gave heed to her and opened her womb.
Exodus 2:24
God heard their groaning, and He remembered His covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Exodus 2:24
God
Remembered
because
God
Remembers~
“I, even I, am He Who blots out your transgressions, for My own sake, and remembers your sins no more.Isaiah 43:25
God
Remembered
so
God
Removes~
as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12
But oh how quickly I forget
to
Remember
His promises
In the midst of
confusion
disappointment
loneliness
and
sadness...
And
instead
Remember
Anxiety
Fear
Doubt
Just like the disciples
who also didn't
Remember
right after the miracle of the feeding of the 5000
as Jesus confronted them:
Don’t you know or understand even yet? Are your hearts too hard to take it in?
‘You have eyes—can’t you see? You have ears—can’t you hear?’
Don’t you remember anything at all? Mark 8:17-18
How quickly they didn't
Remember
How quickly Peter didn't
Remember
that he would forget....
the words he recited to Jesus
“Even if everyone else falls to pieces on account of you, I won’t.” Matthew 26:33
But Jesus knew
Peter wouldn't
Remember~
“Don’t be so sure,” Jesus said. “This very night, before the rooster crows up the dawn,
you will deny me three times.” Matthew 26:34
Three times
Peter would deny ~
to disclaim association with a person or event,
to purposely forget
to not
Remember
the One
Who he walked with
Who he talked with
the one Who he loved...
Three times
He denied it again, with an oath: "I don't know the man!" Matthew 26:27
Oh how I easily I don't
Remember
when I turn my eyes from
the One
the One Who
Remembers
me
the One
Who
Remembers
you
the One
Who
Remembers
even when we
don't
Remember
What Promise do you need to remember?
But then I recall all you have done, O Lord; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago. Psalm 77:11
So
Let's
Put On
Remembering
and
Remember~
This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”
Then He says,
“I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.” Hebrews 10:16-17
Because
We are His People
