In ______ I Trust?

I Think God is trying to tell me something,

as the following words of Oswald Chambers ( "My Utmost for His Highest" )

that I read yesterday

so pierced my soul with truth

that I had to re-read them a couple of times~

"If I put my trust in human beings first,

the end result will be my despair and hopelessness toward everyone. I will become bitter because

I have insisted that people be what no person can ever be— absolutely perfect and right.

Never trust anything in yourself or in anyone else, except the grace of God."

Now

I Know that God is trying to tell me something

because as I am preparing to lead a bible study today

and reviewing the chapter,

the same words

that were first published in 1927

show up again in a book published in 2005.

Hmm..

Coincidence

I don't think so.

God, Yes!

So I will repeat the words again~

"If I put my trust in human beings first,

the end result will be my despair and hopelessness toward everyone. I will become bitter because

I have insisted that people be what no person can ever be— absolutely perfect and right.

Never trust anything in yourself or in anyone else, except the grace of God."

Thank you God for the gentle reminder

of the expectations I place on others

&

the expectations I place on myself

to be someone that it is impossible to be

because

"Not a single person on earth is always good and never sins." Ecclesiastes 7:20

Thank you God

for getting my attention again

and pointing me back

to the

Perfect One

who

covers me

and

covers you

with

His Perfection~

"When God our Savior revealed His kindness and love,

He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.

He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.

He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.

Because of His grace He made us right in His sight

and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life."

In God I Will Trust!
