Christian~ese 101: Abide

Oh the 'ole hamster wheel...

The hamster runs & runs & runs

back to the same place

every time

going everywhere

yet nowhere

gaining speed

but it is a dead end.

Have you ever felt like you were on a hamster wheel?

You try

you try again

you try again & again & again

&

always end up in the same place,

yet

you just can’t seem to get off the wheel

because

the wheel is the problem.

No matter how fast you run,

if you are on the wheel

you will end up

Weary

Anxious

Hopeless

Helpless

Impatient

&

Out of Control

because

you become

Whatever & Wherever & in Whomever

you abide.

This Jesus Thing

This Christian Walk

This Walking the Talk

is all about

Abiding~

to dwell

to remain.

What is your hamster wheel?

Where, What and to Whom

do you

Abide in

to find something more

to find something better

to find something different than what is right now~

yet keep ending up in the same place?

As

a hamster doesn’t have a choice~

because the cage is

his home

his dwelling place,

with a wheel in the center,

but

we

have a choice

to get off the wheel that keeps us caged in

when we

Seek and Find

the

One

Who

we

Abide

in

so that

we will

experience

the

Fruit

that

can

never

be

found

on

the hamster wheel.

The word for today is

Abide~

to

Abide

in the

One

Who

replenishes

the

Weary

Anxious

Hopeless

Helpless

Impatient

&

Out of Control

soul.

Walking the Talk

is

Abiding

in

Jesus~

Staying Connected to the Vine~

"Abide in Me, and I in you.

As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it

Abides in the vine,

so neither can you unless you

Abide in Me." John 15:4

Abiding in Jesus~

If I want Hope

You are there

If I want Peace

You are there

If I want Love

You are there

If I want Self Control

You are there

If I want Patience

You are there

If I want Faithfulness

You are there

If I want Goodness

You are there

If I want Kindness

You are there

If I want Gentleness

You are there.

All because

"The Fruit of the Spirit is

love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness,

faithfulness, gentleness and self-control." Galatians 5:22-23

And

because

Fruit can’t produce itself,

Fruit is birthed out of

Abiding.

So let's

have a

Fruitful Day

&

Walk the Talk

by

Abiding.
