I am doing it again.
I am trying too hard.
I am looking for the
Burning Bush~
I am waiting for
God
to say my name loud and clear
and to tell me something
amazing that will blow my socks off
that will make this moment
the best moment ever
so that I can tell you about it
to show you that
God is amazing.
But if a
burning bush showed up in my living room
I am pretty sure that I would pass out.
Does God have to do something amazing in order
for me to know that He is amazing?
What more does God have to do
for me
to let me know that
He is here.
Have you ever felt like this?
Job did~
“I cry out to you, God, but you do not answer; I stand up, but you merely look at me. Job 30:20
David did~
"My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest." Psalm 22:2
Jesus did~
“My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” Matthew 27:46
Joni did
and I am sure that
You did.
Hmm~
We are in great company.
We are not alone.
Are you waiting for God
or is
God waiting for you?
Who would cry out to someone who isn't there?
Hmm~
So it is in the silence
in these moments
when I am looking for the
burning bush
I have to stop
and just look up
and know
that
God is
Looking right into my eyes
&
Looking right into your eyes
always~
“In the silence of the heart
God speaks.
If you face God in prayer and silence,
God will speak to you.
Then you will know that you are nothing.
It is only when you realize your nothingness, your emptiness, that
God can fill you with Himself.
Souls of prayer are souls of great silence.” (Mother Teresa)
Therefore
on this quiet Sunday morning
I may not see the burning bush
&
I may not hear the loud voice of my
God
But my heart is burning
because
that is where
He lives
