You get the call.
You don't know how to handle the news,
because it is beyond anything that you could ever imagine as it
sends you into a tailspin~
"This can't be. This is too absurd. I will not accept this."
She gets the call.
She doesn't now how to handle the news,
because it is beyond anything that she could ever imagine as it
sends her into a tailspin as she was
"greatly troubled at his words" (Luke 1:29)
as soon as she heard~
"Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” (vs. 28)
And then more words to prepare her~
"Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God." (vs.30)
For what was to be beyond absurd for any ordinary girt to hear~
"You will conceive and give birth to a son, and
you are to call him Jesus." (vs. 31)
She gets the call
and does know how to handle the news,
but asks a question~
“How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” (vs. 34)
She gets the answer~
"For no word from God will ever fail.” (vs.37)
You get the call that sends you into a tailspin,
but then you remember the words~
"For no word from God will ever fail.” (vs.37)
You ask the question and get the answer
from the One who was to not only change
Mary's life forever
but to change ours~
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this:
to believe in the one he has sent.” (John 6:29).
All because on the night that she got the call~
"You will conceive and give birth to a son,
and you are to call him Jesus." (vs. 31)
She responded~
“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered.
“May your word to me be fulfilled.” (vs. 38)
And she believed~
"Blessed is she who has believed
that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!” (vs. 45)
All it took was
One Ordinary Night & One Ordinary Girl
&
ONE EXTRAORDINARY GOD
& ONE LITTLE BABY
to be
Born into her
on the night she got the call
because
She BELIEVED.
And
all it takes is
One Ordinary You & I
To believe in the
ONE LITTLE BABY
who was born on that
EXTRAORDINARY Night
is the same
ONE
who takes
One Ordinary You
to
EXTRAORDINARY
because
HE said so~
Jesus answered
“Did I not tell you that
if you BELIEVED
you would see the glory of God?” (John 6:29)
