My sister loves puzzles.
She likes the mess of them~
all of the pieces scattered across the table.
One by one
she puts the mess together
as she finds the
perfect fit for each piece.
Now for me~
I dislike puzzles.
Too much of a big mess
that becomes so overwhelming
that it isn't fun and relaxing,
as it is for my sister.
Therefore, as a child, I would "steal" 2 of the puzzle pieces,
waiting til the very end,
so I could place them in the missing spots
knowing exactly where they would go.
What fun is that, as I missed the joy of the process of puzzle making?
Does our liking or disliking the process of putting together a puzzle
change the fact that it is still a puzzle?
Now what if there wasn't the box cover to show you what
the finished product would be?
Hmm...
Puzzle~
Question Mark
Problem
Dilemma
Secret
The Unknown~
as you see are all the little pieces
in a messy pile
and don't know where to begin.
We don't.
As GOD pieces together each piece
one by one
to fit in the way that
HE has created them to fit.
Better than we could ever imagine.
And all HE asks is for us to~
TRUST HIM
in the process even if we don't like the process
HOPE IN
HIS ability that HE is actually doing something
that will be so much better than we could ever do.
BELIEVE
that
HE is creating a work of art
out of the mess
that will make sense to us
when we see the finished product.
Oh how I wish
HE would discard some of the pieces~
yet without them
the puzzle wouldn't be complete.
"For now [in this time of imperfection]
we see in a mirror dimly [a blurred reflection, a riddle, an enigma],
but then [when the time of perfection comes we will see reality]
face to face.
Now I know in part [just in fragments],
but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known [by God]"
(I Corinthians 13:12)
What pieces are you holding back that need to be surrendered to GOD?
Hmm..
Maybe I will start to like puzzles just because they are puzzles
and see the mess as a process that I am not to figure out.
"And we know that in all things GOD works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to HIS purpose" (Romans 8:28)
