I have been PHOTOSHOPPED.
It is one thing to PHOTOSHOP yourself,
but to have another
PHOTOSHOP
photos of you,
without your permission
sends quite a message.
You are NOT GOOD ENOUGH,
so I will make you APPEAR BETTER
Now,
I have never
PHOTOSHOPPED myself,
and it has never occurred to me to do so.
I actually laughed when I say the photos of myself on
social media,
without any wrinkles,
without any laugh lines,
without any squinting lines,
without me.
Who was that woman smiling with a fake face?
Not me.
For me to find it quite comical
is quite comical,
for it didn't crush me,
as in the past it would have.
As I was told over and over again
how I was NOT GOOD ENOUGH,
which feed me the lie that I was
UNLOVABLE.
And that my friend is a lie
that no one should BELIEVE.
And oh how this was a GOD moment for me,
a freeing moment
for I didn't remain paralyzed
cutting myself apart because someone else did.
If you know me,
you know that I don't hide much.
I speak it, and maybe too much,
And I don't PHOTOSHOP myself on the outside.
and even on the inside.
And this wasn't always the case,
until I met a MAN
who CHANGED me from the inside out,
and did so much more than just temporarily
PHOTOSHOP me.
For HE came into my HEART
and CHANGED me forever.
For JESUS doesn't PHOTOSHOP,
because PHOTOSHOPPING is just a temporary mask
that masks your REAL SELF.
When JESUS enters your HEART,
HE LOVES you back together
with a LOVE
that exposes
your
REAL SELF
who GOD created you to be.
And
you don't need to look into a mirror to see if you are
GOOD ENOUGH.
Will the REAL YOU stand up?
What if everyone saw the
REAL YOU~
your blemishes,
your imperfections,
your doubts,
your fears,
your junk drawer?
What if?
What if GOD saw the REAL YOU?
Does that frighten you?
But GOD does SEE the REAL YOU.
HE not only SEES YOU,
HE KNOWS you from the top of your head to your toes,
because HE CREATED you.
And that is why HE sent JESUS,
to overwhelm you with the
GREATEST LOVE
that takes over your whole being,
so that you can be the
REAL YOU,
without wearing any masks that temporarily tell the world
that you are PERFECT.
I would rather have a wrinkled face
with JESUS,
then have an unwrinkled face
without JESUS.
For
THE GOD WHO MATTERS SAYS YOU MATTER AND THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS.
HE LOVES you in your
beautiful moments and in your ugly moments.
HE sees your REAL SELF~
your beating heart that is
filled with so many emotions
and broken spaces and places,
that PHOTOSHOPPING them
will not take them away.
ONLY JESUS fills the HEART with a LOVE that is EVERLASTING that makes you stand TALL when you may feel so small.
And when you do,
even though those around you
may look at you funny
or not look at you all,
especially when you are courageous enough
to be the REAL you
and
LIVE UNMASKED,
because JESUS is BEING REAL WITH YOU,
loving you with HIS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
So why try to HIDE behind a MASK
and of false coverings,
when JESUS INVITES you to come as you are?
Adam and Eve wore a fig leaf,
and we know how that turned out.
There is no covering big enough,
to cover the eyes of your CREATOR.
For GOD SEES THE REAL YOU,
and that is why
HE LOVES with a REAL LOVE
that gave up HIS SON
to die for you.
Do you wear a MASK
over your emotions,
over your imperfections,
over your shame,
over your past,
over your ____________,
in fear of what other's may think about you?
What if today you
LOSE the POUND
of
NOT GOOD ENOUGH,
by
FASTING from
the negative thoughts you tell yourself
or that others tell you about yourself,
and instead
embrace
WHO JESUS says you are.
Will the REAL YOU stand up
and
