I had a dream last night,
a very good dream.
Someone asked me the question,
"What is the ABUNDANT LIFE".
And I answered,
by showing a bowl of water.
(yes, I even dream in analogies).
I was confused,
as I held up the bowl of water
as I had no idea why that was the answer.
And then I asked
JESUS.
And oh how it became so clear.
JESUS is THE LIVING WATER.
JESUS is THE ABUNDANT LIFE.
HE IS EVERYTHING.
There is nothing else that you
can put in a glass of water to make it water.
It is WATER.
We need to drink WATER
to quench the thirst that our bodies crave,
or
dehydration will come upon us.
And the same with JESUS,
because HE is SOURCE of LIVING WATER.
We need HIM
to not only SURVIVE,
but to
never be THIRSTY again,
as HE told the
woman at the WELL~
“If you knew the gift of GOD and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked HIM and HE
would have given you LIVING WATER....
Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,
but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them
will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life”
(John 4:10-15).
To LIVE THE ABUNDANT LIFE in the
HERE & NOW
is to keep drinking from
HIS WELL of LIVING WATER
that never stops
GIVING what our heart, minds, and souls need,
because
our
hearts,
minds,
and souls
get polluted so easily
as long as we have breath in our lungs,
because
we are so
human.
Therefore,
as long as we walk this earth
we need
TO PUT OFF
the flesh.
Picture a bowl of dirty water.
But what if you kept adding
CLEAN WATER
to it,
wouldn't it eventually
become a bowl of CLEAN WATER?
That is how we are to live.
Our hearts, minds, and souls
so easily get
polluted from the impurities that sin leaves behind,
as we live in a polluted world.
Even though IN CHRIST
our SIN issue has been covered,
as we are 100% FORGIVEN
which connects us back to
GOD,
we are to LIVE as CLEAN.
So how do we LIVE?
As a
FOLLOWER OF CHRIST
who
continually
DRINKS OF HIS LIVING WATER
that
fills our cups
with
HIS PEACE
HIS JOY
HIS LOVE
HIS HOPE
HIS FORGIVENESS,
which displaces all the pollutants
that strive
to get into our WELLS.
Oh
LIVE THE ABUNDANT LIFE~
"Since you have heard about JESUS
and have learned the truth that comes from HIM,
throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life,
which is corrupted by lust and deception.
Instead, let the SPIRIT renew your thoughts and attitudes.
Put on your new nature,
created to be like GOD~
truly righteous and holy"
( Ephesians 4:21-24).
Now I know that my dream really wasn't a dream,
as it was my JESUS whispering to me
to remind me
that HE IS THE LIVING WATER
and I am to continuously
guard this
GIFT
and
continually
put off the old self
and put on the new self
and
"COME TO THE WELL"
