There he is.
He is walking with his answer to his prayer and GOD'S PROMISE~
his son ISAAC.
Abraham~an old man.
A very old man
with a very old wife,
who had a son
at a very old age
because GOD PROMISED.
And then GOD asked Abraham to give Isaac back to HIM.
So GOD is now asking for HIS GIFT back.
Do you ever question GOD
Or
do you tell your son to carry the wood that you will use
to tie him to
so you can give him back to the LORD?
Yup.
True story.
And Abraham did it anyway.
Could you? Would you?
Are you willing to give up your Isaac~
YOUR WILL~
YOUR I HAVE TO HAVE _________ in order to be happy.
YOUR most PRIZED POSSESSION.
But what if you most PRIZED POSSESSION is yourself?
Can you give yourself up to the ONE who gave you life?
Can you carry the wood that built CHRIST'S CROSS?
Oh the wood is from us.
The CROSS beams
that took GOD'S PRIZED POSSESSION~
HIMSELF~
so that HE killed HIMSELF.
But the story doesn't end because that is just the beginning of
your story & my story
when we make the ultimate sacrifice
and give up
ourself to be nailed on the CROSS that we built.
Oh there are so many sacrifices we make in life.
Oh there are many ISAACS that I have to surrender to
GOD
with tears
as I say to GOD~
not my WILL but YOUR WILL be done.
And right at the moment when you are about to put the knife to your
ISAAC
GOD sends another sacrifice in its place and says
"Put down your knife".
Oh HE knows now that you would do anything for HIM,
because of your WILLING SPIRIT,
even when the SPIRIT is WILLING
and when your flesh starts seeping in that weakens you
with the temptation to hold on so tightly
that you don't want to
give up your ISAAC.
But oh
to take the step and agree with GOD that
"IT'S NOT ABOUT ME"
because
"I have been crucified with CHRIST; and it is no longer I who live, but CHRIST lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the SON OF GOD, who loved me and gave HIMSELF up for me" (Galatians 2:20)
Oh it comes with a price,
yet becomes PRICELESS
as your life changes because JESUS flows through your veins
giving you the abundant life that is beyond words
despite whatever your ISAAC is that
you want to keep for yourself
yet you hang onto the words that
JESUS said first~
"...yet not MY will, but YOURS be done" (Luke 22:42).
Just because
IT'S NOT ABOUT ME
when it is ALL ABOUT HIM
because
HE knows me & you way better than we know ourselves
so JOYFULLY we can say
"THY WILL" (listen to the song below)
