I have been CALLED many NAMES,
and many of these NAMES have wounded my heart
so deeply
as I CLAIMED these NAMES as my own.
I BELIEVED who others said that I am.
Doesn't an innocent child BELIEVE what
is said to them and of them?
So what does a child do?
Well this child did the
dance of perfectionism and perfectionism,
thinking that if she could be
PERFECT enough
then she wouldn't be CALLED the NAMES she was CALLED.
Well, she never could be PERFECT ENOUGH.
So that meant that she WAS who they all SAID she was.
BUT GOD CALLED her
HIS OWN.
HE reached down and found her,
all grown up,
still being
CALLED the NAMES,
yet HE CALLED her
HIS DAUGHTER
the moment she
answered the CALL from HIS SON
to
COME TO HIM.
And she CAME.
Is she being CALLED NAMES?
Oh yes.
Does she like it?
Oh no not at all, because the NAMES still pierce her heart,
as NAME CALLING hurts.
I think of a women in the bible who is
CALLED
RAHAB the HARLOT.
Yup no editing there.
She is BRANDED,
yet,
she answers the
CALL,
by FAITH,
to hang a scarlet cord from her window
that would save her and her family.
The men who were sent to her by
GOD,
knocked on her door,
but did not see her as her profession.
They saw her.
She was RAHAB.
And what did RAHAB do.
BY FAITH she BELIEVED these men,
as they made a PROMISE
that if her and her family would be SAVED
if she did what they asked.
And she did.
An in doing so she
was SAVED and so was her family.
What is her NAME now?
For she is the
Mother of BOAZ.
And why is that important?
Well, BOAZ is the father of
OBED,
who is the father of
JESSE,
who is the father of
KING DAVID.
Hmm.
And why is this important.
Well
RAHAB the HARLOT
is no longer
CALLED by that NAME.
She is
the great great grandmother of
KING DAVID.
She is in the bloodline of
JESUS.
What if RAHAB did not have FAITH?
What if RAHAB did not BELIEVE the PROMISE
the men of GOD made to her
if she
hung the scarlet cord?
Hmm.
Where would JESUS be?
Hmm.
A PROMISE IS A PROMISE FROM THE ONE MAKING THE PROMISE.
And when GOD makes a PROMISE
HE ALWAYS KEEPS A PROMISE.
“For GOD so loved the world, that HE gave HIS only SON,
that whoever believes in HIM should not perish but have eternal life"
(John 3:16).
So what is in a NAME?
Oh so much.
What is your NAME?
Are you being CALLED __________by others?
Do you CALL yourself ____________?
Oh the power of ONE NAME
that changes your NAME
forever~
JESUS.
So today, even though I am still being
CALLED NAMES that I do not like,
I stand on the ONE NAME who changed my NAME
to
"DAUGHTER".
Oh the power of HIS NAME when it is stamped on your heart.
What is your NAME?
Will you claim your
REAL NAME
as
DAUGHTER or SON,
because you BELIEVE in the NAME OF JESUS?
Oh how I weep in this moment
as I am reminded of the
greatest gift of GRACE
that I have every
RECEIVED
