The Day After

The wishbone is left.

The mashed potatoes, stuffing and pie

are having a party in your stomach.

Now what?

THE DAY AFTER.

Do we eat leftovers as we decorate the Christmas tree?

THE DAY AFTER.

The Now What?

I think of Jonah on his DAY AFTER.

THE DAY AFTER GOD had the big fish spit him out.

Oh was Jonah THANKFUL?

Hmm.

Well he was right before he was released from the belly of the big fish.

And then Jonah finally did what GOD asked him to do from the very beginning~

GOD'S WILL to bring the message of salvation to the evil Ninevites.

Jonah did. They repented.

Now what?

THE DAY AFTER.

Jonah is angry.

Where is the Jonah with the voice of THANKSGIVING to the LORD.

It is buried beneath anger.

Oh how I can be praising and thanking GOD one moment

and then it is is like I don't even know who GOD is

as anger will begin to clothe me.

What do you mean GOD that you forgive them?

What about me?

Oh the cry of a heart that wants justice.

But GOD FORGAVE me.

But GOD FORGAVE you.

And GOD keeps FORGIVING me & you,

when we don't deserve it.

Ouch!

Anger the poison that keeps one stuck.

Anger shutting the door down on THANKS GIVING.

And then the words of the Psalmist floods the truth that speaks to

UNTHANKFULNESS~

"Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul,

And all that is [deep] within me, bless HIS holy name.

Bless and affectionately praise the LORD, O my soul,

AND DO NOT FORGET ANY OF HIS BENEFITS;

Who FORGIVES all your sins,

Who HEALS all your diseases;

Who REDEEMS your life from the pit,

Who CROWNS you [lavishly] with lovingkindness and tender mercy;

Who SATISFIES your years with good things,

So that your youth is renewed like the [soaring] eagle" (Psalm 103:1-5).

Oh what a wake up call when anger strives to replace

THANKSGIVING.

May we never FORGET GOD'S FORGIVENESS.

May we never FORGET GOD'S FAVOR.

May we never FORGET GOD'S SON

who never FORGETS us.

Therefore, on

THIS DAY AFTER & THE DAY AFTER that

let us never forget

that GOD is the same GOD

who we can't live without

because

"LORD, YOU'RE the air that I breathe

That's

WHO YOU ARE TO ME" (listen to the song below)
